Tired of your Instagram looking like a hot mess of hashtags? I was too! Then I noticed several of the bigger brands had found a way to cleverly hide them in the comments which resulted in their accounts looking more polished, less promotional and way less cluttered.
I spent a few minutes online and after sifting through some blog posts discovered the secret to hiding hashtags. It's super easy, but not very obvious unless you know exactly what to do.
If you are using Instagram for business or personal use and want to join the pack of Instagramers who stay on top of the latest trends, watch this quick tutorial and learn how to hide your hashtags.
Not only will it earn you street cred with the community, your posts will come off more authentic and less of a desperate cry for followers and attention (which, let's be real, we all want). The key is to not appear overly promotional and here's how to get a jump start...
Here are the steps in writing, for those of you who prefer to read...
Step 1: Open a text editor on your phone (I use "Notes").
Step 2: Type a dot • then press "Return". Repeat 5 times.
Step 3: Place your hashtags right underneath the 5th dot.
Step 4: Copy the text (line breaks and all) and open the Instagram App.
Step 5: In the Instagram App post your photo and caption.
Step 6: After you've posted your photo, click the comment button, paste the text you copied in step 4 and click "Post".
Step 7: You're all done! Watch the likes come in ;)
